Helldivers 2: new Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond announced and improvements on the way

In a recent announcement, Arrowhead Game Studios confirmed that Helldivers 2 will get a new Legendary Warbond in 2026, this time in collaboration with the popular Warhammer 40,000 universe. The news arrived alongside a slate of upcoming improvements and updates planned for the coming months.

The Legendary Warbond with Warhammer 40,000

The Warhammer 40,000 collaboration was revealed during the Warhammer Skulls presentation. Mikael Eriksson, the director of Helldivers 2, said the two worlds fit together perfectly. Arrowhead, which is known for its passionate Warhammer fanbase, is looking forward to bringing this Legendary Warbond to life.

The Warbond is set to launch in 2026, but no exact release date has been announced yet. This crossover will be the third of its kind for Helldivers 2, following earlier collaborations with other franchises such as Killzone and Halo: ODST. Eriksson noted that while the Warhammer 40,000 partnership is exciting, players should not expect iconic figures like the Space Marines to show up. The Astra Militarum, made up of ordinary soldiers fighting alien threats, seems like the most logical fit for this crossover.

The new Warbond will arrive alongside planned updates that will not only add new content, but also focus on system improvements and transparency.
