Ghost of Yōtei Legends: latest major update confirmed

Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the multiplayer co-op mode from Sucker Punch Productions, launched on March 10, 2026. The mode later received an expansion called Raid mode, which became available on April 10, 2026. It has now emerged that this Raid update was not only the first expansion, but also the last major planned update for Ghost of Yōtei Legends. This was confirmed by Darren Bridges, lead designer at Sucker Punch, in a post on the PlayStation Blog on May 15, 2026.

The Raid update is significant because it brings the story of the Yōtei Six to a close in the co-op mode. Players on the r/gotlegends subreddit have expressed disappointment that no further major updates are coming. Unlike the multiplayer mode of Ghost of Tsushima, which received two major content updates in total, it now appears that Ghost of Yōtei Legends will not receive similar support, even though the original game sold 3.3 million copies within its first month.

Although the popularity of Ghost of Yōtei Legends seemed to leave room for more content, the decision not to support any further major updates may point to a broader strategic shift at Sony.
