What happened
Zynga has announced a new limited-time content series for Game of Thrones: Legends called Kingsroad: The Unlikely Heir. In the official October 2026 event calendar, the activity is tied to Kingsroad and Goldroad, with Benjen Stark featured as a Legendary Champion. The calendar lists it as part of the month’s lineup for October 2026, placing the update squarely within the mobile game’s existing live-service structure.
According to the calendar, the event runs from October 12, 2026 at 03:00 ET to November 9, 2026 at 02:00 ET. During that window, players can work through the Kingsroad tiers via daily and weekly quests and earn rewards such as Champion Shards, Summoning Tokens, and more. The fixed start and end dates, along with the tiered structure, make it clear this is a contained seasonal activity inside Game of Thrones: Legends.
The calendar also notes that this season’s Goldroad Pass includes Champion Shards for Legendary Champion Benjen Stark. That brings Benjen Stark back into focus in Zynga’s mobile game. The source material explicitly connects his return to the new Kingsroad content, while the official calendar further specifies the name as Kingsroad: The Unlikely Heir. The source also mentions that the event rewards include not only shards but other items such as Summoning Tokens.

Background
Benjen Stark is the youngest brother of Ned Stark in the Game of Thrones universe and a long-serving member of the Night’s Watch. The source also notes that he once disappeared beyond the Wall while investigating threats in the far north. That detail fits his role as a character often associated with the northern edge of Westeros and the dangers beyond it.
The source also points out the difference between the TV series and the books: Benjen’s fate was revealed in the television series, not in the novel canon. In Game of Thrones: Legends, the character now returns in a prominent role as a Legendary Champion. The official calendar makes it clear that Zynga is using him in a new seasonal structure built around Kingsroad and Goldroad, with an event window spanning more than four weeks from October 12 to November 9, 2026.
The naming is not fully identical across the available sources. The GameRant announcement uses The Unlikely Heir, while the official calendar specifies Kingsroad: The Unlikely Heir. Both refer to the same content series within Game of Thrones: Legends. The calendar also explicitly states that this season’s Goldroad Pass includes Champion Shards for Legendary Champion Benjen Stark, further underlining his role in the update.
