Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: demo available and launch details

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the long-awaited sequel to the remake of the classic, received a free demo on April 28, 2026 for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. The demo lets players explore part of the game before the full version launches on June 3, 2026.

The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo covers the first two chapters of the game, out of a total of 14 chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on Cloud’s memories of the infamous Nibelheim incident, while Chapter 2 takes place in Kalm, where the heroes gather after their escape from Midgar. Players also get to try out the gameplay of the new card game Queen’s Blood, which is introduced at this point in the story.
