Fallout 76: winners of the 'Rip Daring vs Aliens Showdown' contest revealed

The popular online multiplayer game Fallout 76 has recently revealed the winners of a design contest focused on player creativity. The competition, themed around Rip Daring and the Zetan aliens, was organized by Bethesda and gave players the chance to submit their own C.A.M.P. designs.

Contest overview

The contest officially launched on April 2, 2026, and gave participants until April 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. ET to submit their entries. The event continues Bethesda's efforts to promote Fallout 76's C.A.M.P. building systems, especially following the major overhaul that arrived in September 2025.

C.A.M.P. system overhaul

In September 2025, Bethesda introduced a major update to Fallout 76's C.A.M.P. system, significantly relaxing the rules for placing objects. The overhaul allowed players to build more complex and creative structures, including connecting walls and applying wallpaper on both sides. The improvement has led to a renewed wave of building activity in the game.

Contest winners

After a week of judging, Bethesda announced the winners of the contest. The winning designs were AppleMentats' "Mobile Cryptid Hunter HQ" and RadRux's "Zetan Crawler," both from Discord. Both winners will receive 5,000 Fallout 76 Atoms, which can be spent in the Atomic Shop, as well as an exclusive C.A.M.P. title. AppleMentats will receive the title "Daring Supporter," while RadRux will receive "Alien Supporter."

Mobile Cryptid Hunter HQ

AppleMentats' design is inspired by Rip Daring's adventures and is presented as a mobile headquarters shaped like a fortified expedition vehicle. Acting as a rolling bunker, the vehicle features defensive elements such as metal panels, spikes, and floodlights. The build highlights the monster-hunting and adventure themes that sit at the heart of Fallout lore.

Zetan Crawler

RadRux's winning design, the Zetan Crawler, is a C.A.M.P. that looks like an alien war machine. With a central pilot cabin, heavy mechanical limbs, and a series of eerie lights, the build pays tribute to the classic extraterrestrial iconography of the Fallout series. It looks like a perfect fit for future events centered on alien invasions.

Future events and developments

The community's positive response to recent events has encouraged Bethesda to potentially hold C.A.M.P. design contests more often. The current season, "Cryptids from Beyond the Cosmos," runs through June 2026, after which the season "Appalachia Under Siege" will begin. A release date for the new season has not yet been announced.
