Background
Golden Keys in Borderlands 4 are used to open the Golden Chest. The source explicitly names that chest as the destination for the reward and ties the new code to a set of 3 Golden Keys. That fits Gearbox’s usual Shift system, where codes are used to hand out limited-time rewards.
The provided source also includes background on other Borderlands 4 content. It mentions that the game received new post-launch content in 2026, including a new Vault Hunter named Loveless and Story Pack 2. According to the same source, Loveless launched on September 10 and centers on cybernetics and a digital virus threat that can take on a physical Wyrm form.
The source also says Story Pack 2 added a new tropical area called Providence. That area is said to include story missions, side missions, activities, collectibles, and Tediore enemies. These details come from the provided source and are included here only as context, since they are not separately confirmed by additional sourcing in this report.
The combination of a new Shift code, a fixed reward of 3 Golden Keys, and a clear expiration date of October 6, 2026 makes this a time-limited Gearbox promotion for Borderlands 4. The source emphasizes the official redemption options through the game and the Shift website.
