The Blood of Dawnwalker sequel: time mechanic not locked in by Rebel Wolves
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz says Rebel Wolves won’t automatically reuse The Blood of Dawnwalker’s time mechanic in a sequel.
- Rebel Wolves wants to decide per project whether a system fits the story, or should be changed or removed.
- In the current game, players get 30 days and 30 nights to save their family, while actions and quests consume time.
What happened
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, game director at Rebel Wolves, told Eurogamer that the time mechanic from The Blood of Dawnwalker will not necessarily be part of a sequel. According to him, the studio has not made any decision on a follow-up yet and only wants to use the system if it fits the story of a future project.
That leaves Rebel Wolves with several options open. A future game could keep the same basic structure, but the mechanic could also be adjusted or removed entirely. In the same interview, Tomaszkiewicz also said the studio is exploring how future RPGs can feel different, without naming any concrete systems or features.
The current game is built around that time pressure. Eurogamer says players are given 30 days and 30 nights to save the protagonist’s family, while quests and other actions take time. In that setup, the vampire Brencis plays a central role as the antagonist.
IGN also reported that The Blood of Dawnwalker is getting a New Game Plus mode. According to that report, it is not yet known when it will arrive or what extra features the mode will include.

Background
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a dark fantasy action RPG from Rebel Wolves. The game stands out for the limited time players have to complete the central rescue objective, and for the fact that progress itself costs time. That makes it different from many other RPGs, where players can often explore and complete quests without a hard time limit.
Tomaszkiewicz’s comments are not about an announced sequel, but about how Rebel Wolves thinks about future projects. He says the studio has not decided on a follow-up yet and that the time mechanic will only return if it fits the story the studio wants to tell.
Separately, IGN reported that The Blood of Dawnwalker is getting a New Game Plus mode. According to that report, it is not yet known when it will arrive or what extra features it will include.
