Lego Horizon Adventures Replaces Lance Reddick's Sylens

Oct 21, 2024 1:00 PM

Lego Horizon Adventures has announced the recasting of Lance Reddick's character Sylens following the actor's sudden passing in March 2023. Sylens has been an integral character in both Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, assisting the protagonist Aloy. Guerrilla Games confirmed that while Sylens will still appear in the new Lego title, a new actor will be introduced to voice the character. The developers emphasized the significance of Reddick's portrayal and noted their intention to honor his legacy by retaining the essence of the characters, with other original voice actors also returning. This recasting raises speculation about the character's potential future in upcoming games, particularly with a live service Horizon Online multiplayer edition in development.

Will Sylens continue to appear in upcoming Horizon games?

While there hasn't been confirmation, the recasting of Sylens for Lego Horizon Adventures suggests he may have a presence in future Horizon titles, especially with a live service game and a sequel in progress.

Horizon Zero Dawn, released in 2017, gained acclaim for its open-world design and gripping narrative centered around Aloy, a hunter in a post-apocalyptic world filled with robotic creatures. The franchise has since expanded with sequels and a plethora of related media, consistently drawing players into its intricately built universe. Lance Reddick's portrayal of Sylens has been pivotal, contributing to the depth and intrigue of the story.
