leaked BioShock 4 image reveals shocking secret

Jul 15, 2024 10:29 AM

An image purportedly from the next mainline BioShock game has leaked online, yet it reveals very little about the anticipated title. The image, supposedly part of a visual effects artist's showreel from 2021, shows the first-person shooter perspective familiar to the BioShock series, a basic user interface, and a 'Ricochet Shotgun.' Notably, it displays BioShock-style plasmid powers and a codename 'Parkside,' which aligns with past reports and leaks. The game is being developed by 2K's Cloud Chamber Studio and is set in a "new and fantastical world," indicating it won't revisit the iconic settings of Rapture or Columbia. Interestingly, original BioShock creator Ken Levine is not involved in this new project.

What new features can we expect in the next BioShock game?n

The leaked image hints at new features such as plasmid powers, including an electricity bolt and a possible ability to pause time. However, specifics remain unclear as the image is from an early demo build, and the final game may differ significantly.

The BioShock series, known for its atmospheric settings and deep storytelling, began with the original game set in the underwater city of Rapture. BioShock 2 continued in the same environment, while BioShock Infinite took players to the airborne city of Columbia. Ken Levine, the original creator, has since left to form Ghost Story Games, where he is working on a new project called Judas. Fans eagerly await more concrete details about the next installment in this beloved franchise.
